K, I've had this on my mind for a while but I have just came around to asking it. In my 94 teggy, not sure if it's like this in others, but when I press the button on my face plate to go to CD mode the antenna goes down and when I go back to radio mode the antenna goes back up.
Now I need to know how to keep that antenna down when I go back to radio mode. I need to do this because I have one of those iTrip fm transmitters for my ipod and it works best when the antenna is down because the signal is weaker. Any info or tips LET ME KNOW PLEEEASE
Some people have just installed a simple on-off switch for the antenna instead of having it triggered by the radio. Unfortunately I suck at electronics so I don't know how exactly to do it, but do a search and you should be able to find out w/o too much trouble.
That's funny... my antenna stays up even when my stock stereo is in CD mode. Annoying.

On the back of your cd player there is a blue wire that tells the antenna to go up. If you cut that wire it will stay down. what kind of cd player do you have?

How about the radio... will it still go up when that's on? I'm talking about the stock Integra deck btw.

with the stock cd player when you cut the power antenna wire it'll stay down all the time. unless you wire in a manual switch. I dont know the color off the top of my head for the stock wiring, but its the wire next to the switched 12volt acc wire. If you unplug the radio and hold the harness facing you with the clip on top it will be the third wire from the left
Hmm well I don't want to have absolute crap radio reception... ehh I guess I'll just wait to do the S2000 conversion to solve that problem. Thanks for the info! Rep for you.

Any ideas of how I would come across said switch and how I would hook up said switch as well. Thanks.
just to be safe disconnect the battery, get some wire and a toggle switch from radio shack, find a good spot to mount the toggle switch, get the wire, run 2 pieces of the same length from the toggle switch to the cut blue wire. then attach the wire that you got from radio shack to both ends of the cut blue wire. reconnect the battery and test with the radio on of course.
i hope this helps you out if i could draw it out for you i would
