Any advice?

Well my day hasnt been going very well..
i wake up this morning, back out of my driveway, i can hear a noise (sounds like im driving with a flat) so i stop, the tire looks a little underdeflated but not bad.. i fill it up, drive a bit, it makes the noise that im driving with a flat, and then when i brake, it sounds like my rim is scrapping the ground or something.. i get out and check, rim, and tire are fine, but the noise is there..i said f*ck it and parked the car.. check it out, theres notin stuck or wrong with my tire.. it sounds flat when im driving and totally aweful when i brake..i also noticed the rim where im hearing the noise, is BLACK with brake dust.. and my others are clean..
Im getting it towed tomorrow, but was hoping for a bit of feedback for what to expect...
I was thinking maybe a problem with the brake pad or a seized caliper (would explain the braking, but when im driving normally it makes a weird noise also).. could it be an axle or wheel bearing?
i think my info is a little limited, so it may be hard to diagnose this problem like this but i was hoping for a bit of feedback.. if someone has had this type of problem b4 please let me know
Sorry for the long post.
Alex

randyman is an unknown quantity at this point
did u check ur brake pads? one might be all worn out and the caliper is making the contact to the rotor, making the "metal-on-metal-grinding" noise.

i didnt get a chance to, i was late for school, and i got home and had to do a physics lab report.. ill check it out tomorrow night.. but would that explain the noise im hearing when i drive normally tho? it sounds like i have a flat tire..
would that also explain the insane amount of brake dust on that one rim (its totally black)
edit: i talked to someone with the same problem it was the drive axle and wheel bearing that needed to be replaced cost 450$ (canadian) -- would drive axle + wheel bearing problem cause the black rim effect?
... hope its just a caliper/brake pad problem..
