there is no c2 to my knowledge. there is a c3, c4 and c6, but these were not available stateside.

This is not really a stupid question. My advice would be to not try to make sense of ANY auto company and their codes. For example there is a DC2 but there is not a DC1 or DC3 (that I know of) The numbers never seem to go in order. Another example is the B16A2 which was in the 99-00 civic si. I am pretty sure there is a B16A3 that came stock in an older car.
