yeah its an good setup. my friends hatch did 14.57sec on b20/v stock internals street tires with a .980RT at the englishtown raceway drag strip and untuned. but he used a gsr head. b20b/z blocks are the same thing as the LS block but it just has a bigger bore. 84mm=b20 block 81mm=LS block.
remember you will need an gsr timing belt, water pump and oil pump.

No offense, but that seems alittle off..my buddy ran high 13's in a crx with the motor that I have now(Stock ls block, arp rod bolts is it and a b16 head) trapping 104-105mph. granted it is a crx, but no the ls/vtec setup is not the devil. Alot of bandwagoners like to steer people away from it for no reason, because they hear horror stories about people not building them right..Properly built LS or CR-VTEC= THE highest horsepower B series with a OEM crank.

I could argue that beyond belief, but I dont really have the effort. LSVTEC's have their place as a budget build looking for ~175whp, but not as a built motor.

agreed. i'm pretty sure i could make just as much hp with a b18c1 as a crvtec with a stock crank. considering it was actually meant to rev like that. anything will be fast with money, but do it the right way. ls/vtec is for cheap asses.
