Sometimes when im driving my 95 teg the brake pedal will push in a LOT farther, is this normal? it kinda scares me b/c i dont know if im getting the full power of my brakes, and i wonder what would happen during high speeds. :eek
i'm no expert this is only my 2 cents but i had the same problem in my del sol, sometimes it was normal sometimes to the floor it turned out i needed to replace a rear brake caliper and i could see it was bad when i collapsed it to change the rear disc brakes. hope this might help.

you have a bad master cylinder. etiher A) its leaking or B) its very low on fluid. check that out. im pretty sure thats your prob.

I have the same problem with my brakes going to the floor sometimes. But I recently changed my MC and its not leaking or low on fluid. I think its either air in the lines or something to do with ABS.

ask any tech. a spongy pedal is most of the time directly related to air inthe lines. of course replacing the master cylinder isnt going to fix your problem. if its not leaking or damaged, why replace it?

Start simple. Check you pads and all that stuff and bleed the brakes. Make sure the pistons in the caliper are working properly. If that doesn't solve the problem, try the master cylinder.
