Brake Rotors, ?s

what is the best all around brake rotor type to get. what is the advantage of the slotted is my main question and are there any disadvantages of slots and drilled. i kno i want drilled, but im not sure if i need slotted too. i have a heavy foot so i like to stop fast.

slogsr is an unknown quantity at this point
best all around brake rotor = stock rotor or stock with good brake pads

slotted and cross drilled just look cool and do very little to decrease your stopping distance / fade

big brake upgrades with 2 or 4 piston calipers will stop you faster but they are pricey and you will need a larger wheel than stock

Slotted and drilled rotors helps keep the heat down. They do help in the stopping distance, but not by much. You're better off getting some dimpled ones. I've heard the drilled ones warp easy, cause drilling holes into them weakens the structure.

but since they are drilled they wouldnt get neer as hot tho would they. so the point of the slotted is to supposedly stop you faster.

I think the benifit of slotted and drilled rotors are also to get rid of the gas that can accumulate under the pad when you build up heat with repeated hard braking (like on a race track) these gasses come out of the pad and create a cushion of air (gas) preventing the pad from geting a good grip on the rotor therefore little or no stopping power. If you are building up that much heat on the street you are probably being reckless or driving dangerously.

gsr24 please don't take this as a flame it is not intended as such but...take some time to know the limits of your car ... Honda / Acura did a very good job in designing it and it works very well in the stock configuration. learn the limits then decide what areas need to be enhanced. and please do so at a track or autocross. or better yet at a proformance driving school

I want soooooo badly to do a good proformance driving school but can't afford it ... I have a mortgage and a baby plus a wife that wants a bigger house oh well that's my problem!

EXACTLY...thank you for sharing that...that was a very educated comment i would have to say! Slotted rotors eat your brake pads up and cross drilled are prone to cracking...just my $0.02
