is this a broken engine mount?

ok, when i reverse my car, it feels/sounds like my whole engine shifts of moves. i am not sure if thats what it is for sure, but thats my best guess. when ever i reverse you hear this big thump, sounds like the engine, i dunno?

I have had the same thing. Think its the exhaust, cati, or resonator hitting the heat shields. Been that way for quite some time. Just haven't been under there to figure it out.

Carefully visually inspect your mounts and see if they look broken or worn. If not, you probably have something flexing or knocking on your exhaust. Check the exhaust joints/flanges and hangers.

It could be your exhaust manifold has lost a bolt where the two peice comes together. My car did the same thing, although it was aftermarket headers that did it, but this should apply to stock manifold too.
