type-r buildup for turbo

I am getting a different car, possibly a 96-00 civic coupe and I am planning to drop an LS motor in it and boosting it. I was wonderng what kind of setup and buildup would i need. I don't really care for a superfast car but one that runs low 13's would be nice and to beat most of the cars around the block. I was also thinking about a Rev Hard II kit but i don't know if i should resleeve the block, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

PS.
I already searched on this topic, but some said to fix internals, while some said it wasnt necessary. OK to boost 8psi-10 psi on stock?.. :

A low 13 SEC car and you say; "I don't really care for a superfast car " Granted 13 sec is not the fastest, it Still is a fast car.

Compression and leakdown tests are in order FIRST.

Then you will know where to go.

You don't need to rebuild for low boost, or a small shot of No2 if it's fairly young and not too used up or abused.

For serious speed, though I would certainly think of going inside at least down the road.

You are looking to beat the neighborhoods?

A.

Thumbs up Boostin'

I have the Rev Hard stage 2 kit, and full interior and I run on Nitto drags 7psi so far =13.6 @ 103mph. Only additions to kit are listed below. So w/ full slicks and some weight redux, lower 13's are in reach, that is what I want @ 7psi full interior Just gotta get my launch down, hoping my new struts will work for me!

Otherwise under 10psi internals pretty safe' if ya want beyond 10psi full internals to be safe!

Turbo's are awesome, and once ya make the investment it's just a matter of turning up boost and building motor to handle it!!!

Good luck!

Mark

In a civic...~8-9psi w/ a t3/t4 kit on a b18b yes you'll probably be mid to low 13's with good driving and traction. If I were you I would just get a nice turbo kit, sell the fmu and inline fuel pump you get and get some larger injectors and a hondata 2b. Then get it all done at the same time and have your car as fast as you want it to be and be very reliable.

Resleeve the bottom end so you can push big PSI like 25psi. Depending on how many miles you have on your engine you might have to do a rebuild anyways. Might as well do it right the first time and you will hit low 13's easy.

resleeve
rods
pistons
retainers
ect...

in your furture if you plan on going big.

Otherwise under 10 psi is pretty standard for a stock engine.
My next car is going to be resleeved so that the engine can hold up to 800hp. How big you want to go is up to you.
