CAMSHAFT REMOVAL

I removed all the bolts from the camshaft bearing caps on the exhaust side but none of them will come off. What do I need to do to remove the holders?

If you have loosened the valve adjustment nut and backed the screw all the way out, and then loosened the camshaft holder plate and bearing cap bolts, then the plates and caps should come right off.

I should of mentioned that I have a 99 LS. I don't have any plates. I loosened the valve adj. nut and backed out the srews all the way. And I couldn't remove the caps.

tap it with a hammer or try to pry them off with a screw driver. The dowl pins make it a real bitch to take the caps off.
