So, are you saying it was a PCV valve stuck open? That's a pretty common source of an intake leak.

Im saying that i shouldnt have caped the hose that runs to the valve cover to the pcv breather box on the block. I have to take off the box from the block. Once i plug it up it wont be circulating oil to the intake manifold. That is what was causing all the smoke. we pulled the -plugs and a shitload of smoke cam out of it.

pretty much i hcanged out the valve with the one off the 2000 manifold. Got the motor runng really nice now and i jus t have to plug the hole on the back of the block. thanx for all the help.
