Cars sputtering

hey guys its me B20ACINTEG. I forgot my password so i just logged on under my last account. anyways, i got my integra back yesterday from the shop. I swapped a Jdm b20b into it. When i left the shop it was driving fine. But i noticed today that when i shifted into 2nd it wasnt smooth. And a lil when i was in 3rd. It sputters and when the rpms are higher its fine. BUt when its climbing it doesnt go smooth. My mechanic said that it might need new plugs. or the intake needs to be cleaned. He told me that before the swap. Does anybody know whats wrong. When i was comming home tonite it was really lacking the power it had before. somebody plz help

I had the same problem...One of my cylinders was misfiring. Make sure all the plugs/boots are in tight. Check your wires for damage. Make sure your plugs are clean too. I just went ahead and changed all my plugs and wires.

Has it thrown a CEL yet? If so go ahead and jump the ECU plug and run the code see what comes up it will narrow it down to which cylinder for ya

Yeah, check the plugs and wires. As said earlier, check the plug order also.

check ignition

i doubt its that they're in the wrong order since he said it was driving fine earlier...

also could be fuel getting cut to different injectors

check fuel system

If the CEL has been on check which code its throwing...it will narrow it down for you.
if you're not sure how to check the code do this:
If you have a '92-'00 Acura and '94-'00 ECU then look on the passanger side foot well underneath the far right hand side of the glove box there should be a green rubber cover with a plug in it. Pull the plug out of the green sleeve and put a paperclip in both connections of the plug. Turn your keys to the ON spot

Now look at your CEL it should start blinking A long flash stands for 10...a short flash for 1. All you need to do it add. If its 2 long flashes followed by 3 short flashes it would be "23"

Heres a list of codes thanks to T-I.net

0 ECU
1 Oxygen Content
3 Map Sensor
4 Crank Angle Sensor
5 Map Sensor
6 Coolent Temperature
7 Throttle Angle
8 TDC Position
9 No 1 Cylinder Position
10 Intake Air Temperature
63 Intake Air Temperature
12 Exhaust Gas Recirculation System
13 Atmosphere Pressure
14 Electronic Air Control
15 Ignition Output Signal
16 Fuel Injector
17 Vehicle Speed Sensor
20 Electronic Load Detector
21 VTEC Solenoid Valve (1.8L GSR)
22 VTEC Oil Pressure Switch (1.8L GSR)
23 Knock Sensor
30 TCM Signal A
31 TCM Signal B
41 O-2 Sensor Heater
43 Fuel Supply System
45 System Too Rich or Too Lean
48 Primary Heated O-2 Sensor
54 Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor
61 Primary O-2 Sensor Circuit
63 Secondary O-2 Sensor Circuit
65 Secondary O-2 Sensor Circuit
67 Catalyst System
70 Automatic Transaxle
71-74 Random Misfire
80 Exhaust Gas Recirculation
86 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit
90 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected
91 Fuel Tank Pressure Circuit
92 Evaporative Emission Control System Insufficient

When I had the problem you were having it gave me "74" Radom misfire in cylinder 4.

ok just fallowing up on this. Its been a long time because I got the plugs changed and the engine ran perfect. However the maintaince required light is still on. I didnt know if this indicates to chek for cel codes, so I cheked them anyways. And the light shaped as an engine flashed once and then turned off, and from what i read this means theres no cel codes being given. So my question is what is the maintance required light trying to tell me? is there anyway I can chek to see if its anything specific? or if no cels are being given should i just reset the ecu to get rid of it?

There is a diff between the CEL and the MRL The Maint. Required light usually means you need to change the oil, or fluid, something in thoes terms.
