CEL #81??

k so I counted the code like 3 times and came up with 81, and then I find that there is no 81 listed as far as I could find. Now, I do believe that I can count but I could be wrong, so is there an 81? I will do it again, it would make sense to be a 71, which is a misfire, that is what it felt like.

as far as the story, went to start my car cold, it fired right up but I could feel that is was consistantly missing on 1 cylinder, that is what it felt like to me. It did this for like only 3 seconds then bam it is gone. hasnt done that since and that was 2 days ago. it is running completely fine. It definitaly felt like there was no spark that caused it; because it was like a switch turning off and on. or like an injector was plugged then pushed out the blockage.

Have you started with the obvious? Pulling all the plugs, and checking the gap with a feeler gauge would be a good place to start. Confirming you actually have spark would be next. Then just go from there eliminating the smallest things, all the way up to running too lean and creating pre-ignition or detonation.

Not sure what to say about the code. Try it again lol. Math is my life, and I've defintely counted the same thing 4 or 5 times...and then get a different number on the 6th....funky brains of ours....

yah confirmed I dont know how to count, it threw 71 and 72. I have no idea what caused it. I cant think of anything. no I have not done anything. it runs amazing. if it were plug gap, I would notice it more often. When it happend, it was like turning a switch on and off, so I am thinking it was spark related, I also thought it could have been a plugged injector, but the code says both 1 and 2 were missing so that kinda eliminates that. but I am going to reset and I dont think it will come back. we will see.

thanks for the help.
