CF Hood Pins....uhhhh....
I recently got a VIS OEM hood, and it is just SWEET. But there is a little problem. There is a little gap between the hood and fender. Along the side of the hood on the passenger side. Which makes a little gap in the front. Which makes my hood wobble on the freeway. I haven't put the rubber weather strip on yet, but If I put that on there there still going to be a gap. Now I personally don't like hood pins, but I might have to put them on there. Is there anyother way of closing that gap without the hood pins?
p.s. I had gotton into an accident 3 years ago, to the point where I had to get a new hood, front bumper, fender, radiator and one of the headlights replaced. So maybe my frame is slighty tweaked.

i think for CF hoods, you need hood pins for sure. correct me if i'm wrong anyone.

With some CF hoods there may be a noticable gap. You should be able to adjust the two hood hinges so the whole hood will line up with both fenders. I've had my CF hood for 2 years now and haven't had any issues with out hood pins.

Put the rubber weather strip on first, before deciding on pins that you may not need.
My OEM hood wobbles and shimmies at 120 plus MPH. I know I don't need hood pins.
Yeah I would recommend what 1Greyteg suggested. Put on the rubber weather strip piece first and that should help air pass over the hood instead of underneath it which can also cause the hood to vibrate more. It will also give you a tighter fit. I was initially going to put my rubber weather strip piece on but I didn't feel like drilling any holes into the CF hood. At 80mph my CF hood barely bounces but anything past that up to 130mph Ive noticed a little more bouncing in the middle of the hood due to wind friction. One more thing, under the hood there are 2 adjustable rubber bump stop pieces. I had to adjust mine a little for my hood to latch and fit perfectly. When you put pressure on the front end of the hood does the hood move up and down a little? If it does you may want to adjust the 2 rubber pieces under the front of the hood. See if that helps the vibration because when I first got my hood I was cruising around 25-30mph and noticed my hood was vibrating more than I wanted it to. Since I've adjusted the rubber pieces under the hood I've not had any issues.
Sadly I heard that VIS hoods and stuff don't fit well alot of the time...I just think hood pins look pretty sick on a CF hood...I just hope that VIS hoods and their carbon fiber hatch's are built good, I kinda want to get a CF hood and hatch for my EG after I finish building my motor and getting it swapped into my EG...Got pics of the hood fitment?

i've never had my stock hood wobble on my at high speeds. but when i replaced it with the CF hood it wobbled even when i made the hood-bump-stop adjustments and weatherstripping. i just gave up with trying to prevent it from wobbling and eventually put in the locks. no more wobbles for me.

I will post pics of my hood when I get a chance. Also I think my car being in an accident plays a big factor for my hood not fitting right.
