check engine light after vafc install

i have a 98 gsr and i just put in my vafc. i only have an intake and exhaust right now but i got a deal on the controller so i put it in. vtec is set at 4900 right now and two days later i was about to get up into vtec in 4th gear and my engine bogged so i let off and the check engine light popped on. lemme know if you have an idea of why this couldve happened.

your vtec engage point is set wrong- set it to stock until you have the car tuned.

try L-H 4400
and H-L 4100

reset the ecu and see if that helps any. If not, re-check your other settings and wiring.

You really should've read the directions with the VAFC...but since you've got the CEL off now this is closed. the VAFC is a tuning device man, tune with it on a dyno.
