Hey i have recently bought a 1998 acura integra with no motor and i have a wrecked 95 honda civic dx with the motor and tranny and i was thinking about putting the civic motor n tranny in the integra. I was just wondering if this is a bad idea or no?

Please don't. That's like putting a Focus motor in a Mustang, it just shouldn't be done. B18A/Bs are less than $1k complete, why don't you just do that? That's what's SUPPOSED to be in there.

a friend of my mine put a b16 into his type r shell just to piss off people haha.
ran a 11 flat =P
you can even get the new ep3 civic motors for like 1500 bucks. you'll get the 2 liter displacement....
anyways, spend the money however you want. you'll find that you'll want to upgrade further down the road tho

It is disgracing when it is a TYPE R shell. A type r should have a B18C5 in it.
A friend of mine had an ITR that he turboed, supercharged, ran nx through, and just beat it in general, and sold it for what he paid for it. He now has an 8 second civic

i don't see it as disgracing anything haha. when you can run 11 flat, it shows the potential of something that's only 1.6 liters.
the itr shell isn't THAT much different than any other dc chassis.
as for me, i'm content in my faithful b18c1 haha

You guys have failed to realize that certain low-end model Integras in Japan came with a D16 SOHC non-VTEC...
...but yeah that's dumb, pick up a B18b1 for under a grand.

thats true because when i went to japan i did see a sohc DC body integra.. but if you still have your shift linkage and mounts ..just buy a B16 conversion ..it has the tranny and ecu and motor ..all you will have to get is axles for the integra ... or you can buy the B18b full conversion it comes with the same thing engine, tranny, and ecu ...

I think people know how I feel about B16s... and this isn't even a B16, it's a SOHC D16 with ~50hp less.
Just don't do it man. The correct engine and tranny is $500.

if you're building some killer setup in your garage that wont be ready for a while and you just want to throw in that sohc just so you have something to drive around its not a bad idea.
but if you plan on using the d-series permanently and start buying mods for it, its a dumb idea. there was someone here a long time ago that wanted to take the b18 out of his sisters/gf integra and put his sohc civic motor into her car.
you can find b18 swap for not much more than a sohc swap.
