cleaning header up

well i got some headers and they got some rust on them i was wondering the bast way to clean them to a nice looking header

i dont think the rust is on the inside if there arent any holes, the paint he was talking about was probably grill enamel the paint for BBQ grills, it can hold up under high temps and seal small cracks 2. and when u check just make sure there arent any holes, if not ur good to go hope that helps

yea just use any high temp paint. Im sure caliper paint would work. You could paint it black.

use a light grit on the main body of it and a slightly heavier grit on the rusted part. then dont use calipre or grill paint they will burn off to fast. your header get way WAY hotter than your brakes or a bbq grill would get. even bbq grill coating burns off with just that heat. what you need is the super high temp primer rated to over 500 degrees. two coats. krylon rust tough paint in the color of your choice or primer. one coat. and finally two coats of high temp paint rated to 500 degrees of the color of header you want. i had a prelude friend do this 3 years ago, theres a little flaking but not a ton. hope that helps.
