Clutch shopping
Hey guys, anyone have suggestions on a good, reliable clutch? I have a 98 LS with a few mods (cai, exhaust, springs, shortshifter) and my stock is goin' out on me quick. I do plan on going turbo within the next few months and i want to make sure the clutch I get will work well with what I have now as well as what is coming in the future. Thanks so much : )

SHO NIGHT CREW #6.. join us.. u know u want to.
try to search function and type 'clutch' as the keywords mainly because everybody have different perference which i know people gonna respond with "get exedy organic all racing clutch because they are awesome , or watever"
Clutch master, act, exedy. Find a clutch that fit ur wheel torque needs, then do a search and find out if that clutch u find have a good feedback or not.
Mods: JDM ITR FE conversion. All-motor goodies. Hondata system.
ACT all the way!!... if you want something to break.
I don't own one, but if I was going with a new clutch I'd put in a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. That's a streetable clutch for a high power car. Not only that, but you don't have to deal with the heavy pressure pedal of the clutch with the ACT HDSS.

99 Si-T: Ran a 13.87 @ 102.34mph. Full int, w a/c & p/s, on 17" street tires, and a full exhaust (no open downpipe) @ 6.5psi of boost. Check out my old Si-T

I love my Exedy organic, but it's not enough for a boost application - and an ACT HDSS probably won't be either. I'd go with an Action clutch with a Kevlar disc - they make single and dual-plate setups, so depending on how much torque you're planning on making you should decide on which is best. The kevlar disc has better feel than an organic, holds strongly, lasts longer than organic, and is resurfaceable. And I can get you a deal on them.

My ACT HDSS works great. It never slips. I love it. But I don't think youcan really go wrong with a name brand clutch really. Y'know like ACT, Exedy, or Centerforce. I hear good things from all of them.

Umm, well you can go wrong, because the HDSS is only rated to 243lb/ft, which she could very likely surpass going turbo in a few months.
