SHO Lesson #1: please learn to spell vtec, or u WILL get flamed....
that being said, a "vtec controller" (or afc (depending on brand pref)) is more than just a vtec controller, it is a tuning tool used to modify, amoung other things, the fuel curve of ur car, given that it is tuned correctly...but do NOT adjust ur vtec engagment unless u will infact see dyno proven results
so in short, yes...if it is done right

Thanks to xturbo420x for the sig!
if the car is stock you will notice not much gains even if you do tune it. honda put the proper fuel maps in and set the vtec at the best point for a safe stock engine.
not worth it until later. besides, i'd like that vtec to come later anyway. why would i want it to come earlier? let's just put it this way, an afc or vtec controller isn't a bolt on. it's for serious folks who know enough not to ask whether or not an afc or vtec controller would make a difference if applied to a stock engine.
and have you even looked at your engine? is there an H at the end of vtec? how many more people will make this damn mistake. your engine isn't a damn phone.
after reviewin the play, and acknowledgin the noobs request, granted it was properly asked and searched prior to questionin....
final prognosis- still allowed to keep SHO noob stature and will not, i repeat will not be booted for lack of intellectual capacity however , the one in question MAY get flamed due to massive level of stupidity complex .....
if this persist, banning will be enforced..
one time dis guy told me, that if your car doesnt come wit vtec-izzy, that a v afc will add it for u, cus dats wat it does...hmm-crzy fuker

Reason: just remembered
haha you guys got this one covered so that's all I had. Usually VTEC controllers only provide gains with aftermarket cams, and usually by shifting the VTEC switchover point UP... but I bet 80% of the VTEC controllers in the world are shifting VTEC down on stock cams... s0 j00 CaN B iN VteC aLl da tIMe y0!!!

like everyone else said, a vtec controller isnt needed until your car is more heavily modded
i wouldnt say heavily modded. I say it should be the last thing you do before you have to either do internal work, turbo, supercharged...you get the point. And once you get to that point. Your gonna wanna bigger and better things than an afc.
Read LugnutRS's sig. and its VTEC not any other way. and this has been covered, a VTEC controller is of no use unless it is used to appropriately tune your engine, it is a tuning device not a header or an intake or a bolt on. BTW tuning means using a dyno, I'm closing this, and judging by how you spelled VTEC your talking about a "Fields or other generic VTEC Controller" so.......Closed. Research get more mods then use one to tune if not something better.
