Crazy Transmission Leak Problems

WEnt on a road trip, well started a road trip, 2 days ago and about a quarter of the way there the tranny (automatic) started leaking, badly; to the point that we had to refill it.

Okay, now it's running fine again. When we get about half way to our destination, the tranny just upchucks all of the fluid. And this time, when we tried to fill up the tranny with fluid, the fluid wouldn't go into the tranny. A little bit would go in, then it would stop; filling it up took forever.

Now, I have the shafts out and am about to change out the seals, as that is the only thing that makes sense, but I am still confused about why the fluid wouldn't go into the tranny in the first place. Has anyone had such a crazy problem before??? We never had such a problem with the transmission before, nor any leaks. Please help!!!! Thank you.
