DC vs. GReddy headers?? testimonials anyone??

i'm running a aem short ram, DC 4-2-1 two piece header, and a GReddy SP exhaust right now. Just got offered a brand new Greddy 4-2-1 one piece header for $280, thinking about picking it up, but i'm wondering if it'll make a difference. i haven't really heard anything about headers, like which brands and styles are good cept for the 4-1 JDM ITR headers.

THANKS in advance. - jeremy

There will be minimal if not negligent differences or gains between the 2 you mentioned.

The JDM/ITR however WILL be different.

Yup...stick with the JDM ITR header, it make more substantial power than the others you mentioned. And you may want to port the ITR headers...a quite noticeable amount of power can been gained.

Heres a before picture, see the welds, it has been said they're restrictive.

And heres the after...

Heres a link to a post where I started to put the Basic Mods I/H&E into perspective.

Although it is for an ITR, the same rules hold true for a B18C1:

Bolt on Tech: beginning to understand the beginning

Sorry Jayman, I just had to one up ya!

Oh, and BTW I used to have the DC sports SS 4-2-1 on my LS.
It looked nice, if you get my drift.

Good luck,

A.

JDM ITR will see substantial gain, but if you would like to stick with 4-2-1 design, and maintain more clearence, look into a comptech header.

Just a question.

Since he has a bolt-ons only GSR, doesm't he stand to loose hp in the midrange with the JDM ITR header?

thanks

Heres adyno comparing a 4-2-1 and 4-1 header:

As you can see the 4-1(blue) makes its power from 6000rpm+ and the 4-2-1(red) makes it power from low to midrange. These headers were designed to give you power either in the upper or lower rpm ranges...your decision lies in where you want you powerband to be located.
