search "how to spell"..im sorry that was mean..anyways..i personally feel unless your gonna be like all track and i doubt it from your vocabulary and use of skunk 2 valvetrain..that the stock cams are ideal for low compression boosting and most Honda engines would not need cams to be boosted..i recommend a compression test thought to see if its worth it before you blow money on valvetrain/cams/boost if you go against the norm

Mozilla Firefox does have a spell check feature as a part of the browser

It's really up to you IMO. Yes, you could essentialy have the cams installed for free since you have to take out your stock ones to fix your valvetrain, but you could save the money and spend it on your boost project. Cams can be beneficial to a boost project, but it's really not the first thing you need to worrying about.

So if you still want to spend the money on cams for boost, do a little research one which cams are best for boost, and why that is so. Otherwise, fix your valvetrain, and spend the money on your goals for boost.....what are they btw?

There are turbo cams for FI applications, and there are NA cams for all motor setups. I wouldn't bother spending money on cams just yet until you make a final decision on what your doing in the future, or your wasting your money.

hope I spelled everything right

Well, assuming you're talking bhp, you're closing in on 300whp....which is usually considered the higher end limit of what a properly tuned stock B18 block can handle more or less.

You're now getting into some serious things, and if you want that kind of power, than I guess you could slap in some cams since you'll be spending a lot of money anyways. You may consider building the bottom end (Crank is fine unless you want to mess with stroking, but rods, pistons, and their hardware, head studs etc). You'll need a good proven turbo and piping with all the toys, and of course, top of the line tuning. Also you'll want to figure out if you want to go with medium compression, high compression w/ Methanol/water injection, or low comp.

As you see, you have a hell of a lot of researching to do to see what it takes to build a 300whp B18 on boost.

So figure some things out, and it will be easier to understand where you need to go from here....enjoy

im going low compression prolly JE pistons eagle rods like u said the crank will b fine and im getting ARP head bolts the thing is that right now im saving for a house or me and my better half LOL so i cant really do anything expensive to the car but i have to change out the valves (bent) and i just thought that while i had the head off i could switch out cams just dont have a clue which cams to get alot of good choices out there OH...and the tuning is going to b done with HONDATA my build is taking some time but only the best is what im getting better do it right the first time i say

Any turbo cam will be fine if you want to take advantage of already having to remove your stock cams. I'm a Crower/Brian Crower guy, and they both make forced induction friendly cams. I'm not sure what people say about valvetrain upgrades with these cams. I haven't done too much research on turbo cams, so you might want to search that up and see what kind of dent in the bank account setting up the top end of the motor for boost can make.

And as for going Hondata, I'd recommend the S300 if your tuner likes it as well. Otherwise get whatever your tuner likes to tune with.

My friend is just finishing his mild D16 SOHC turbo build with a cheap Turbonetics Kit, and he's at about $4,500 in parts and labour so far without tuning. He hasn't touched the bottom end, and he should get around 250bhp...just so you know what you're getting into here....
(My tuner has an 800bhp B18B with about $60,000 in the motor itself)

yea i do welcome all the advise u have to give it is going to b hondata i tune with but im not going with a turbo kit i plan on building one i was told its cheaper then a kit plus if i wanted to upgrade a certain part in the future that it would definitely b easier everything is staying stock except the injectors when i got the valvetrain i told them what i was doing and what i was looking for so im guessing that they hooked me up accordingly i hope so anyway 350bhp at the most so i shouldnt b lookin at much to build the top end im looking for around 5 to 5500 for the turbo build b18c1 OBD1 i think thats doable right or do u think i just have my head in the clouds

Here's "basic" theoretical formula for figuring boost power:

Turbo HP = [(PSI/14.5)+1] * Stock HP

So basically, 14 psi will double your stock hp.

So a nice build with a put together turbo kit (and yes that is the cheapest way to do it, and you can build yourself a much better kit than you can buy), and assuming you have good compression and all, would yield 310bhp with ~12 psi of well tuned boost.

If it were me, I'd build the bottom end, but tuning is everything and there are people with stock blocks running 300whp, but probably built really well and not running crazy boost to get that power.

Other than this, we can go around in circles forever speculating about how your build could go. Search up threads on boosting, and you'll find a lot of examples of what works.

Good luck

hahaha, it goes by post count.

I think at 100 posts its "Superhonda Member'' or something. then 200, 300, 500, 700, 1000 i think and so on. If you pay for premium memberships, you can make it whatever you want.
