Drag race suspension
I'm finally getting some income now that I have a job so I might go with a suspension upgrade, and I know exactly what I want: a suspension that is good for dragging. I don't care how stiff it is in the rear, I want it to be as stiff as possible back there. A lowered ride would also look nice and it'd be fun to carve up the twisties. But first and foremost, the suspension has to be good for drag racing. I figure if I pull a 2.3 60' on stock suspension and Goodyear Eagle tires, I could get it down to 2.1-2.2 with a good drag suspension. And as we all know, the 60' time is everything in drag racing. So I have some questions...
1.) What set-up do you recommend? I need at least a 2" drop since my ride is so high right now. I also don't want to spend too much money.
2.) Is it true that aftermarket suspension is a lot lighter than stock? How much weight would be saved by getting new springs, shocks, and camber?
3.) How much is the install usually on this kind of thing?
Alright, guys, it's high time I get educated on suspension after a year of pure power education. Let it begin.
