eek... akk...the resonator is BACK

ooooook this is technically a different question than my exhaust question...

I am doing a custom 2.5" piping and twin loop exhaust for my 00 LS

I am curious with the math and everything... 2.5" is the biggest I will go, and since I do plan on doing a complete exhaust system (high flow cat/header) in the future, I figured I would go ahead and do 2.5"

My concern now is that with the twin loop, is it safe (sound wise) to go without a resonator on 2.5" pipe or should I find a cheap resonator somewhere?? I was looking at Kteller's 14" 2.5 stainless resonator.... any suggestions??? Thanks!!

It's hard to find sound clips for such, people just put clips up and don't tell you what you're listening to.... so I have nothing to compare it to.

I want a nice sound (somewhat quiet), no rasp and all that crap

If you want no rasp then you'd better go with a resonator. Even my A'pexi WS has a little bit of one from the outside (only audible inside if the rear seats are out), I think it's mainly because of the high-flow cat.

every honda ive heard without a resonator has definitly sounded raspy, with the exception of a couple that had an insane amount of money/power into them

well... I had a supercharged civic with a Naxos (sp?) exhaust system that sounded sweet without the rasp, just didn't know if the twin loop exhausts had enough muffling power or not... but im figuring i'll stick with the resonator in my custom setup just in case...

What length should the resonator be??? I am going to get a straight through design, not the louvered design, but I see them in 14" 18" and 22"
22" seems like overkill

Kind of hoping 14" would be enough?
