Engine noise

Not tryin to hate on the GSR engine, but It's real loud in my cabin. What should I do to make it quieter in the cabin to give it a more luxury feel? I searched and couldnt find anything.

The exhuast is not too loud, and I'm not sure about those particular parts, but I'm tryin to make it so you cant hear most outside noises, you know like in bmw's or ford quiet cabs. I guess I'd need to line the firewall with sound deadening material but I'm not sure.

That should work. Dynomat makes sound deadening material

If you have drilled any holes in the fire wall for amp wire or some acessory wire the chances are the noise is comeing from that. To fix it you need to get the rubber gromet seals to put in the hole. I guess you could also use silicone caulk

don't hate on the engine. hate on the fact that you're driving a car brand that didn't take too much consideration for that "luxo" feel.

i can understand bmw, but ford has quiet cabs? i haven't been in a ford recently that didn't have some sort of rattling from either the dash or somewheres underneath the floor...

try getting some dynamat extreme. tape up the insides of your doors, redo along side the firewall, underneath your carpet by your feet.

warning tho, that's a lot of added weight. but i'm sure you're more after creature comforts rather than building a faster car.

I took out my sound deadening... I'll ship it to you for $50.

Naw seriously Dynamat will do wonders. Even some scrap cotton fibers or stuff you can find like that could possibly work.

i can read just fine thank you, but your post in regards to the car/engine is hating.

putting a disclaimer, such as "not to disrespect your mom, but she's fat and ugly" goes without saying.

dynamat can do wonders, as mentioned before (1, 2 and 3 posts above), will fix whatever problem. if anything get it sprayed with sound deading at a car audio shop.

Should I put the dynamat/ spray on the engine side of the firewall or the console side of the firewall?

from the inside. there's regular dynamat (which is a stick on, such as the extreme version), and there's the spray version. but that can get, well, messy.

personally just take a bunch and put them under your floor carpet where your feet are, and then work your way up.

the dynamat will baffel the sound/vibrations coming from engine bay into your ride.

i have a bunch in my doors for my audio stuff. messy shit
