engine oil color

Hello everyone... I just wanted to know if my teg was running normal.

I have a 94tegls. about 97K on the odo. Only Syn after 60K (only valvoline or mobil 1). After about a week or so of driving after a fresh oil change... my oil turns pretty dark.

My gf's car: 95 Accord EX with about 60K on the odo and valvaline only since 12K has a golden color to her oil all the way to her next oil change.

How is everyone elses? and should I be worried about it?

how often are you changing the filter, and with what type?

Valvoline and Mobil have changed the mixtured on their oils (although this wouldn't really play a huge part). Try to stick to one type of oil for optimal results (I like RedLine and Castrol Syntec). 5w30

It's not necessarily a bad thing. I'll guess that you run the engine harder than your girlfriend (which will increase the oil use). I wouldn't be overly concerned. If you wanted to have your oil analyzed you could...

the color of the oil has nothing to do with its lubrication properties, dont worry about the color of it
