Engine Rebuild

o.k. I found a 1992 GS-R it has perfect interior and sharp looking body. But it has 200,000 miles on it. They are asking $4000 hos good is this deal? And how much would it cost to rebuild the engine? if not the whole driveline? Should I stay away and just find something else?

Any input would help thanks....

Sounds like a great deal man.....if you have the cash drop in a new motor or even rebuild the rare b17a which is what i would do......the only thing to be aware of is the clutch you may to have that changed and tranny of course find out how much your looking to spend in the rebuild and go from there......GSR's of that year are rare and hard to come by especially in as good a shape as your saying.....ball park for the engine rebuild would depnd if you want to go big or stay stock all depends on your budget.......how much would you have spend on the rebuild?....i just rebuilt my '92 integra with all high performance parts and the price got up there because of it although i went all out you may not want to...let us know how much your willing to spend for the motor and i can surely help you out man.

money is going to be tight....

THats just it.... I wanted to pay of my insurance for 6 months...but I would only have about a grand left for the car and rebuild....so my rebuild would probably be stock....but what would I be looking at between the two....if I go stock or bulk it up. The tranny I like the gear ratios but I don't know I am a new bee....coming from the 5.0 mustang world....and heard that the honda/acura engines usually run quite abit more to rebuild. Can you give me a ball park on the two ideas for a rebuild....that is what i am really interested in. Because if it is to outrageous I think I will just go with a 1992-1994ish Prelude Si....not VTEC, not rare, but still cool....just wanted a little help on homework if you know of the top of your head....

thanks for the response
