Engine replacement in '98 Integra
I'm posting on this forum to get an idea of how to go about properly replacing the engine in my '98 integra coupe. Had the timing belt snap and the valves were damaged with a quote of 3k to have the heads repaired/machined etc...so I'm thinking about just buying a Japanese imported engine and having a shop change it out. From what I've read that should come in closer to (possibly under) 2k than the 3k quote for the head repair.
I live in Sacramento, CA and am in search of a reputable shop to do the engine swap for me at a reasonable price. I'd rather find a shop that has done many of these rather than just taking it to joe blow mechanic on the corner who feels confident that he can do it "just fine." Also, I found a company called Attarco that is located in Sac and they have a Japanese stock engine replacement available for purchase.
I'm not in search of anything performance oriented, just a stock motor swap that will be done right and pass smog etc...using all the same wiring harness/ECU etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. And if you know of a place where I can get both the Imported engine as well as the work done in one spot for a good price, I'd be interested in that as well.
