Engine running hot

The other day i was really upset , so i did a really nice burnout and ever since then the engine has been running hot. Not all the way up to H but close to it. The needle goes up and then it will go down a little after about a few minutes then up again but never all the way up. Is that normal?

Check the basics... start with fluid levels (check for cross contamination - chocolate milk oil is bad). Notice any new smells/leaks? All I can think of at the moment. Might just be a bad thermostat?

You have a blown head gasket, if it didnt blow to the oil side, its just buring the water, pull your plugs, one of the cylinders probabally has a crystal white plug, thats water...Its blown esp. if your overflow tank is filling up.

Really, but after i finished driving i checked under the hood and everything seemed normal. The coolant was almost low so i filled it up, and i just got an oil chnge about a few weeks ago. The car gets really hot but not overheating hot.Anybody else ever have this probelem. Maybe i better get it to the mechanic.

If its getting low on the water side, its buring it...Do you have unusaul amounts of white smoke? Check the plugs...

Sounds like a blown head gasket to me if your water level is changing at all. the easy test is to take off your radiator cap and see if a lot of bubbles are coming out of there. Also with it off if you rev the engine pretty high and all the water comes flying out you have a blown head gasket. of course be careful not to be burned and don't open the cap after the engine is warmed up.

actually, you're not going to get bubbles out of the radiator filler neck unless u have a blown head gasket, AND you do a pressure test on each of the affected cylinders.
and water boiling out of the filler neck only means that the water is boiling. since you don't have the radiator cap on to pressurized the cooling system, the coolant is going to come to a boil much earlier than if u had the radiator cap on. it has nothing to do with the head gasket. trying doing that test on your car. let the coolant come to a temperature of about 190 degrees, to a point where the thermostat opens.. rev the engine to 2500 rpms, and the coolant will boil over.

try to flush the radiator first. Then maybe change the thermostat. You shouldn't be having this problem at this time of year unless u live in cali or florida i guess. I had this problem over the summer... couldn't figure it out, but it went away come fall... hope its not the water pump...
