Question Engine Uncontrollably Revved to 6k After Valve Adjustment!

I just took my car in to Honda of Seattle(downtown) for some work. I got a compression test(w/o leakdown test), valve adjustment, and a fuel system check because of a sporadic check engine light (rich/lean/fuel monitoring malfunction code). The car drove fine when I drove the 2 miles to my apartment and then I left it in my garage for a few days before taking it out again. I got on I5 and switched gears into 5th at about 4k rpm, then I noticed traffic slowing so I completely removed my foot from the gas pedal but I still kept accelerating. I thought the pedal might be stuck so I even pried my foot underneath but it was as high as it can go!?!? I dropped into neutral and my rpm continue to rise, so I pumped the gas and then my engine began to slow down like it typically would. I've never had this problem before but it makes me wonder if they messed something up when they did the work on my ride... Any ideas on what they could have done? They said I can bring it in for another appointment($$$) but I know it is related to something that they did... too much of a coincidence :

Thanks for the reply, I'm going to check out my throttle cable in a couple hours when I tweak my rear lip a little for better fit

They said that I was throwing a "too rich" code, unfortunately you can't tell by the simple check engine light method which of the three possible problems you have. You probaby wanna dealer it unless you know someone that has a dealer code reader, too bad its about $80 Or you can dyno it if you have hook ups so it will be cheaper and then you can eliminate the too rich/ too lean possibilities. Might be your 02 sensor going bad if you run rich a lot.
