Engine + Water = Problems

1995 Integra SE Hatch
AEM CAI
Lowered on Pro-kits
DEEP PUDDLE/LOTS OF RAIN.

Okay guys...here's my problem. Earlier today driving to work in the teg. Well its starts to rain a whole fuckload! Well it starts to flood up on some parts of the road. Do best to avoid all puddles, pull up to the parking lot and drive halfway up it and then it just dies! Try to start it back up adn then it doesn't start.

So I get to work leave my car outside since there isn't much I can do in the rain and at work. Get off work at 11 and try to start it up agian. And WOW it starts up. But now there's a weird knocking noise coming from under the valve cover when the car is started. The car runs thats how I got it home but now its sitting there in the garage because I dont' want to drive it agian with it makeing a hard knock knock (REPEATEDLY) sound sounds like something is hitting agianst something really fast over and over.

Does anyone have any idea on WTF I should be looking for. Remember I do have an AEM CAI, but I don't believe the car is hydrolocked since it started up and worked??

hydraulic lock doesn't necesayrily mean it will stay seized, just that at the time the water was ingested, it stopped moving cause water does not compress like air.

Either you broke something or spun a bearing.

Time to tear it apart.....:

sounds like you messed up a valve good. Tear off the head only way to find out for sure, unless you got access to a compression tester.

sorry to hear the bro, the same thing just happened to me. You bent a rod, you can't compress a liquid. so think about it. the water won't move so something else has to. unforntually it was your rod. mine bent like a bommerarage. it's not all that bad if ya think of it like this. Just get some forged rods, bore it out, get some higher comp. pistons. and a bad ass head gasket and you will be just fine. that's what i'm doing. oh yeah, it also depends on how many cyl. got water in it. I was lucky and it only went in #1 and the rod didn't mess up the block. it only has a grove where the cyl goes to the oil pan. Also it was a BAD idea to drive it home. This it wat I say"expect the worst, hope for the best". now it time to tear it down and have it just sit in the garage. it's get's kinda depressingf looking at it everyday. but remember if you are going to fix it/build it do it right. don't take any shortcuts and find out what parts are best suited for your car. hope that helps.

Well guys I had a mechanic take a look and its bad if I remember right I believe all the cylinders got sucked some water and the cost to fix it would be more then replacing it with a new engine. So I went with insurance and they replaced the engine with another B18b.

Thanks guys for your advice!

Are they giving you the money to do the repair? If so get a b18c. It shouldnt be THAT much more.
