f**** the timing (tuan please help)

ok i know everybody is going to want to kick my ass for this and there right i tried adjusting the ignition timing without a timing light i figured ill just move it a little and no problem
ok the car runs diferent not bad not good just diferent and a friend said that a little smoke was coming out of the muffler at wot
so some advice please
ill never do it again

if its blue smoke and its a gsr, its probably a pcv problem... no big deal, most gsrs do this at high rpm. too much crankcase pressure with an inadequate venting setup.
if its black, youre running rich or getting an incomplete burn...did you turn the distributor clockwise or counter?
