Question... is the fuel filter the same as the gas filter? If not, where is the gas filter located? I was told I needed a gas filter and I cannot find anything by doing a search on the item. I've already changed the fuel filter. I was told I needed to change the gas filter during a 'major' tune up. Thanks.

yes it is the same and its located on the firewall towards the battery and if you still can find it its gonna be the hose thats coming from the fuel rail to fire wall.

Thanks, I changed that part last week when I had the timing belt/pump changed. Mechanic may have just not been thinking when I took it back yesterday to find out why my engine was 'shaking' and the idle was running high. Hopefully when I swap the plugs, cap, wires, etc. that'll cure it, since he said my timing was reset right and the belt was tight.

I coulda swore it was the same thing, but needed to 'know'!

bump... b/c I'm sure it needs to be changed sometime during the life of the car.

To my knowledge there is no Strainer on the Fuel pump but im not sure i pretty sure there isnt.

Ohhh and 96silverEX when you do you tune up please dont use Bosch Spark Plugs just go with Denso Or NGK's

it's pretty easy...you just take the bolts off the cover plate (under the rear seats).

there's a bunch of bolts there too, and take the pump assembly out. there's a filter at the bottom of it, just take off and swap.

i had to swap out my stock fuel pump with a walboro 255 and it came with a filter already...pretty straight foward swap
