GAS MILEAGE GSR

I think I'm losing my mind.. but I just got my car a couple months back and I was kinda thinking I was filling up gas a FREAKING LOT.. well anyway I've been looking lately.. and I got 16 and 20 miles per gallon the two times I've checked.. THAT'S AWFUL.. I thought at least.. what you guys think.. what are you getting...

No Engine mods except I/H/E.. ECU but that's turned off.. (VENOM 400 I think.. GREAT SHAPE.. btw anyone wanna buy that?)

New Spark plugs.. all fluid changed except tranny fluid.. 20mpg was mostly interstate.. about 75-80 .. weird that I'm getting low gas mileage.. no fun

are you gasing it everywhere you go?
If you drive it hard everywhere you go then that's why. I have no idea what I'm getting in ym teg but i know it's not that low and my teg is bone stock.

Good Luck!!

Fuel injector cleaner, check spark plugs/wires, ummm, yeah. If you can still reset your ecu with the Venom then try that for sure.

I used to get about 25-26mpg during the winter and 30-32mpg in the summer with half city/half highway when the car was stock, I even got 33mpg including going to the track with both my cams advanced one tooth (of course I didn't know they were at the time). Now I get only 22-25mpg during the winter, about 60/40 highway/city with the cams and dyno tuning. I hope it will pick up during the summer. I drive my car pretty hard but I take it easy on her when I'm just driving normally.

Just make sure to upshift early as well. When I'm just cruising, not accelerating much or at all, I shift into 2nd at less than 10mph, 3rd at 17mph or so, 4th at about 23-25mph, and 5th at 33mph or so. With the GS-R's shorter gearing you should upshift even sooner. If you need more power for acceleration just downshift! I try to keep at or above 1500rpm in 5th gear, and in 1st and 2nd I'll even go as low as 1000rpm, if you just accelerate gently it doesn't lug the engine, plus my trusty LS has the torque to do this all day long. I try to keep the revs below 2000rpm when just cruising around, there's no need to be revving any higher when you're just going at a steady speed on flat ground.

I just recently did a full tune up, it has 90,000 miles and my GSR only gets 250 to the tank, but I do like it hammer down alot, so that might be why, I think that I got 280 once...

Even if I fill up when my fuel light starts flashing, it barely fills up 10 gallons' worth. When I got 33mpg (did it twice), I had 342 miles on the tank, and I had driven about 30-40 miles from when the gas light started coming on. The fuel needle was below empty, but only made it a little past 10 gallons on fill up, even with topping it off.

I drive a 95 GSR and I have the same problem. Seems that I am filling up quite often. I filled my tank the other day with premium and found the gas light indicator on 2 days later. I do however accelerate hard and drive pretty fast but still...I dunno seems pretty quick fot a refill.
