gas to the pedal...3 sec later then it moves wtf!!!

I been having this 94 integra ls with a 98ls motor for about two months. Recently I have been driving it around and I find it very odd at certain situations. I was rolling slowing on first gear to get into traffic and I punch it..but my car slowly moves then 3 secs later it started pulling. I'm like what the hell is going on. It also happens on 2nd gear too when I'm rolling just a littel bit then punch it...it stumbles and then pulls...It has been happening to me alot lately. If I start from stop and go through all the gears it pulls very smoothly. It only happens when I roll a little bit on 1st or 2nd. Anyone have any idea what is going on? The friend that I bought the motor from say that motor has been sitting in the shop for quite a long time. Does that have anything to do with it?

Its a 5-speed. Yea it is hot around this weather. How do you improve the throttle response. All I have is just an intake, no other mods.

umm i was surfing around last night at 3 or so, and went to weapon-r for some reason, i dunno what, i was tired. but anyhoo, they have this thingy that replacest the doohicky that the throttlecable attatches to that they claim makes throttle response better by 50%. maybe you want to check it out, if you really want to, but meh.

it could just be time for new plugs, or a tune up or something...

Have you looked at the Throttle cable where it attaches at the Throttle Body?

Is there any play in it? Is it loose or does it bow when you press gently against the cable?

If so you may JUST need to adjust and tighten the throttle cable.

If that is fine and you are not getting any CEL's then a tune up may be another option, what about your air filter? Is it clean and clear of debris? Has it been cleaned recently? What type is it?

A.

ok its definetly not the cable, in any sense, if it was the cable, it would have these symptoms all the time, how olds the clutch? clutch slip is similar to that, engine revs with no response, then it catches and releases until finally grabbing, most likely ingintion related or clutch/tranny, not throttle cable...air filter?! oh come on now

run a compression test. . .

if you're unlucky like my dad (who's car has the same symptoms) you'll see oil floating around in your coolant resivor and realize you have a blown head gasket. =\ hope that's not the case, just suggesting.
