gas pedal getting stuck?? - Honda Forum / Acura Forum

Ok i guess this question isn't integra specific...but it is happening on my integra!!

Lets see if i can explain this right...
when i come from a stop or even just start pressing on the gas pedal its hard to push down...because of this i have to push a little harder to get the pedal to move and i end up over pushing almost peeling off of stop signs...the pedals fine once i get past the initial millimeter or so its just really annoying...makes me feel like a ricer peeling out off every light or stop sign!

What can i do to fix this? could it be the throttle body or is it just a stiff pedal?

it could be ur throttle cable. try WD40 it.

this happened to my saturn.. i cant remember what line the dealership had to clean out but it only cost 30 bucks and it fixed it

Check to make sure the cable isn't binded up anywhere.

its probably your cable or your throttle plate. wd40 for the cable and some carb cleaner on the plate

cool thanks guys i'm going to do that right now...go out and by some of that throttle body cleaner stuff and wd40 the cable a little hopefully that'll help the thing now is it feels like its just a stiff pedal...

And i need to vent about the damn radios in these cars! i bought the car used and the damn radio code that came with it isn't working!! maybe i'm just trying to put it in wrong? is there some procedure...should the car be running or just to on?

First, believe it or not, something similar has happened to me. check out your floor matt, make sure it is down properly.
lol and the radio.... stock radio is horrible anyway. but if you go down to an acura dealer, you should be able to get the code for it.

to me is different! when ever after i pulls hard aka racing, my gas pedal stuck after that... so i had to tap it to make it lose to drive... i'm thinking it's my throttle plate... wat can i do to fix this problem? kinda enoying...

it happened to me too man. go clean out your throttle body. all you need is a something to hold opent the throttle body and a paper towel. takes 5-7 minutes.

my pedal actually use to stay depressed even when i raised my foot because the TB was Dirty. just prop it open and wipe around with a rag. i didn't use anything other than a rag and my problem went away
