Talking GS-R

undefinedHey,
I just have a few questions and stuff about Acura Integra GS-R's. I want to buy an Acura Integra now. Im looking for a 1995 Integra GS-R 2 door proabably black with standard transmission. I look into the buy and sell and many of them are around 8 000$. I was just wondering what would you consider a fair price for a stock Integra from what Im looking for. If I bought the Integra I would probably modify it with Exhausts, Intake and ECU chip. This would at maximum price would probably cost me around 1200$ yet I would probably buy these 3 things for about 800$. What kind of Exhaust, Intake and ECU chip do you suggest? Those 3 upgrades would give me at maximum horsepower 30- 32 hp. What do all of you think about the next upgrade that I should get if I bought the stock Integra GS-R and after I put the 3 modifications on it that I just mentioned. Rims + Tires? Suspension? Pulleys? This would be my project car for probably about 3-5 years in total that I would own it. Im not going to be a heavy racer but probably average or a bit above average on spending my money. I would spend money on by car but since I have that time frame from 3-5 years to work with it what is the best order that you guys find the best way to modify youre Integra? Aswell as is the intake the same thing as an Air Filter?
Thanks

welcome to superhonda... as far as modifying the car some people start with the suspension first and some people start with the basic bolt-ons i/h/c/e (intake/header/cat/exhaust)... i did the second step first and then did my suspension and i am very happy with what i have done so far... there are plenty of good companies out there to buy parts from... keep us updated about u purchasing a car and when u purchase it lets get some photos when you buy it... good luck

i/h/c/e is your best bet for a power upgrade without having to buy a turbo or nos. the air filter is the filter at the end of your intake piping.

Go get you an AEM intake, dc sports header, rs*r ex-mag exhaust, carsound cat and you might see 20 HP for about $1200. Then If you want more power after taht go with pullys then cams then IM. And like someone said earlier, dont bother with a chip until you do all the work listed above. Go luck with your teg. and remeber to resaerch b4 you do anything.

I was making a guess since I have no idea how much hp he would gain. Why dont you let me know how much you think it will give him.

OMG what has been going on in this forum since i have been gone :eek . 1st off i/h/e will probably only net you 10-13 to the wheels maybe 15 if you mix a cat in there. To answer -Sleek-'s question its been stated above forget about the chip and pullies until later on down the road start off with suspension or basic bolt-ons. as far as intake you cant go wrong with aem, iceman, or injen. Exhaust i would say go with Skunk 2, RSR, Hayami, Apexi N1 or world sport, Greddy, or Tanabe. Header i would say Greddy, SMSP, or DC sports and modify the collector to 2.25" because for the gs-r 2.25" is the best flowing size for an a full exhaust system. Then you should upgrade to a hi-flow cat cant go wrong with carsound or random technologies. then you can move on into suspension which their are many different varieties, i went with the reliable setup of Eibach Springs and tockico struts, but everybody has different opinions on what they like so that all comes down to you. If you do go with pullies go with unorthodox or aem, there's more but im tired of typing

So you say the the exhuast should be 2.25 Inches in diamater? I measured that just now but it doenst look that big. But still where did you hear it gives you the best flow and not anything bigger then 2.25"? So youre saying the Exhaust and Intake will give me maybey 15 horspower? I think I would need to work with the horsepower first before the pulley's then. What is a pulley exactly? Hahaha Im new. By the way how much did you buy youre rims and tires for guys and what rims do you have? Any pics of them?

yes for the 1.8 liter engine 2.25" is provides the best flow intake and a FULL exhaust will get you 15 wheel horsepower. Pulleys basically reduce parasitic drag and put less weight on the crank and are lighter than the stock pulleys, but be weary pulleys kill your alternator after a certain amount of time it could take a while for it to happen or a couple of months, I had some 17" Exel Gt-7's wrapped in Hankook Ventus tires shipped to my door $1,100 form WheelMax.com

When you bought the wheels for youre car did you have to do anyhting with the suspension that was mandatory that you HAVE to do with rims. If something is or isnt mandatory what is it or what do you suggest. I like to get the Exel radius 17" wheels with rims for my uocoming GS-R one day. What do is neccasarry for the installment of these rims? By the way how long did it take for the rims to get to youre house off wheel Max? Where do they come from and where do you live?

nothing is really necessary all you have to do is mount them and get them aligned atleast that's all i had to do. My car was already lowered when i got my wheels so nothing else was necessary
