GSR Problem

So last night when I was driving home, I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd (of course in VTEC) when I released the clutch the RPM Gauge dropped all the way down to 0 and the car made a nice popping noise (coulda been a backfire), and the car was still running. So I put the clutch back in and it idled like normal. When I got up this morning, I tried to start the car and it took a second to turnover but did, and has been like that since. I have a CEL which I checked and they are a 1 and 8. Anyone know what I should look at? All the hoses are connected, timing belt is still intact, everything looks the same.
