I'm getting a rhythmic chatter on idle. It goes away when I press the clutch down. However, it comes back when I put it in gear and start accelerating, except it sounds faster to where it's no longer rhythmic, just constant. It goes away again when accelerating above 4 grand and comes back yet again when I let off of the gas when in gear.
During the swap, I was cheap and i used the Exedy organic clutch/pressure plate and 8lb. flywheel off of my previous LSVTEC setup (LS tranny). The only thing new was the throwout bearing. I also used the slave cylinder off the LS block if that matters. The one that came with the GSR was stuck closed.
The other problem I'm getting is a code p1337 (uber leet code). We checked it out and apparently it's "CSF sensor no signal" or "Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1337: No signal in the Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation (CKF) sensor circuit".
whats up...well as for the code, i dont know, but as for your other problem its more than likely your clutch. i had just about the same problem a couple of months ago and i thought it was the clutch or the tranny. come to find out it was the clutch. whenever you change your clutch, you should get your flywheel resurfaced. that affects the way you clutch will wear down. i hope ive been helpful. if not, i tried. good luck.
i called acura today and they said the sound is being caused by the throwout and pilot bearings. any chance they're right? if i'm gonna change those, i might as well get new clutch and fly.
Mods: B18B1, ebay CAI(dont hate), OBX header back(still dont :D), Wont list anymore because i dont seek pity :P
not 100% sure but that could definitely cause problems where an equal amount of surface pressure matters. consider the bearings are going out entirely, similar to a wheel bearing, and provide less force against the pressure plate on one side rather than the other. could cause surfaces on the pressure plate/flywheel to become glazed over or the clutch disc certain chance to slip between them. crack it open and check out your bearings and surfaces. worst that happens is you have a brand new clutch in no time :P
