Hello. My First Post. 1.8LS
Hello my name is Jim and I have a 1995 GTi 2.8 VR6
I have owned many a Japanese products.
93 Prelude 2.3VTEC, 99 YZF-R6, 86 Civic 1.5.
OK
My parents flat out bought my Sister a 97 Integra LS with like 40K.
So they asked my help to find Her a nice one. I will tell you this it was not a easy task to find a perfect LS. I thought all "Honda" stuff was golden and that it would be easy to find a good one. So any way I found a white 97 with black cloth in great shape was dealer maintained in like the "Acura Gold Club" or something like that, one owner.
She has now had the car 1 year. She learned to drive clutch in this poor car! Now like 20K later She is a great driver and has now started at the track. She has hit the track about 3 times now and her times have improved, first time 17.2 but got into the 16's by the end of the night and now by Her 3rd time out She is 16.6. Her only bolt on is a ghetto intake with a K&N. I did the tune up stuff a while back like PCV, Plugs, Wires, Cap&Rotor, Valve adjustment at the dealer. She has Kumho 205/50's on civic Si wheels. Oh ya some type of cheepo Adjustable Coil-overs!
Now we are about to step up to the plate:
I ordered a ACT "Street/Race" type clutch set-up.
And a 9lb. Fly Wheel (I can't remember the brand)
Toped it off with a DC Sports Short shift, with Energy Bushing kit.
My Question to all:
I had to put in a new clutch anyway it's about that time.
So is this a good first mod?
Can we expect a noticeable difference/ better 1/4 times?
And last but not least what next?
My plans for the next step I guess would be.
Header, Exhaust, 403 Cams and the damn cam gears.
Thanks for your time,
Jimmy Long
