I woulnt worry about it so much you will know when you need to replace it when your engien sounds like a lawnmower due to an exhaust leak from a crak or hole in it. Unless you have the money id go ahead and replace it just cause it would bother me. DC sports makes good headers for honda

I'm thinking it's a GSR with a red valve cover on it. Look at the intake manifold, it rises up from the head to the throttle body area. I thought the R's mani was more straight.

looks like a b16 to me.

the gsr manifold comes from under. you would be able to see the runners clearly if that was a gsr manifold. also, you'd see the intake pipe take a dip down right before the tb.

it looks like my head and i have a b16 head.

excuse the dirtyness..

take a look at the block on the left hand side.

Your right.... I haven't looked at my engine in a bit. The first one does look like mine and the second looks more like yours.

It looks like a b16 head. I think the GSR water outlet (upper radiator hose) is in the front of the head and the b16 is in back part...Also where is your GSR strut bar?

The code should be on the block under the head down on the left side of the block about half way down. So if your standing in front of the car....looking at the motor......look mid way down on the left...you should see the code clearly.......

too many variables to identify the engine from a pic, the only way to tell is the block's stamp code. also the head should have "p72" stamped on it near the distributor if its matched to a GSR block (if it is a GSR block).

my hunch is that its a b16. (a common and cheaper replacement after a blown or stolen motor.)

and a side note: the stock exhaust manifold is always rusty in most cars, its cast iron so it will take a very long time before the rust causes any leaks or cracks.
