help, Tranny ?

I just recently bought a integra type r tranny for my car. I got a really good deal on it. The tranny is really awesome but one this is wrong. My 2nd gear pops out of gear if i dont have my foot on the gas pedal. Sometimes i cant go back into 2nd when turning because it might grind. The only time i can use my 2nd gear is when going from 1st into 2nd with gas on the pedal until i go into 3rd or else it pops out if i let my foot off the gas pedal. My question is if it is related to the tranny? or what would be cauing this to happen. Please help because i need to know whats wrong so i can fix it. thanks, any help is appreciated.

yea the tranny is on its way out. i had a simular problem where my 5th gear would pop out if i wasnt holding the shifter in posistion when i left off the gas. you just need to take it somewhere and get it rebuilt.

Might just need to replace the syncros. Thats not so expensive if u kno some people who can do it properly. On the other hand if u got some bad gears then it might get really expensive. If u got the tranny for cheap then the money that you'll put into it to make it run better again will be the same as u getting a new one.

here is my first suggestion

drain the tranny fluid and replace it with GM SYNCROMESH FRICTION MODIFIED fluid, and see if that will clear it up

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm

there you go

part number is 12377916, its heavy duty stuff that works WONDERS, you can also get the normal stuff

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm

this is the part number for the normal stuff 12345349, either way they are both made for more heavy duty transmissions and should make your car shift smoother and in some instances it has been known to help aid in reducing if not removing grinds

Certain honda transmissions have the synchros integrated with the gears so in order to replace the synchros you need to replace the gears.

Hate to tell ya the bad news but you need to take that transmission in and get it rebuilt. Don't drive it unless you are taking it to the shop because you could fuck something else up and it could end up costing you more.
