How do you repair damaged clearcoat on gsr wheels?
How do you repair damaged clearcoat on gsr wheels? Wheel repair shops in northern california charge $129 - $180 to refinish a wheel.
Here are pics of damaged clearcoat on gsr wheels (note: these are not my wheels):

Do I need a high speed buffer or dremel? Are there buffing attachments for a corded drill?
Should I use Mother's Mag polish or do I need to wet sand?
What is a good clearcoat spray paint to buy?

If its flaking off, I would just sand the whole wheel. Start with a lower grit, moving to a higher grit. A palm sander will help a LOT. Once you have it sanded with like 1500 grit, use a polishing compound and a polishing wheel on it, and it should look like a mirror if you do it right. 
Its a SHIT TON of work though. You can buy a paint called "CHROME" at pep boys, which looks almost the same, but is way easier to do.

Theres no excuse for that! It doesnt even cost hardly any money to refinish them- just time. Youre a college student on summer break, I KNOW you have time. 
Fix em the right way, or fix em ghetto (rattle can). Ill even send you the spray paint if you want, lol.

I know, but it's more fun to go get drunk sometimes then to spend a night re-furbing your wheels. 
Plus it's kinda fun rollin with ghetto fat fives. |

Will buffing with Mother's Mag Billet Metal Polish or Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish work instead of sanding with sand paper?
