I am trying to convince my dad to get me a 2001 Integra Type R but he wants to know if the value will increase I said yes now I want to know how many were produced
Don't really know how many were made in all, but in 97, there were 500 that came to the states. As for the other years, I'm guessing what Yoshi said since I don't know. LOL!
Highly doubt it will increase in value until it becomes a collector car. Until then, it'll keep dropping in value as well as the ability to sell it a few years later down the road.
Its hard to find a good condition ITR for cheap. Maybe you can call that value, but if no one is buying for $20k, then does it really have any value?

Go get a GSR. Much cheaper.

well yeah. Of course its a better car. I am assuming this is a younger guy getting his first car. For him I think that a GSR would be better suited for someone his age/experience.

It's pretty darn hard to find a nice, clean, stock-ish, well-maintained Type R, and you'll probably pay a lot for one if you find it. I'd vote for an LS or GS-R too although it depends on what you want to do with the car.

u r right i am getting my second car i am almost 18 and i want it as a daily driver and on weekends i want to take it to the track thanks for all the people that responded
I don't think you would be able to appreciate a Type R unless you've had an Integra before. You're better off getting an RSX-S, Civic Si, or if you want to save your dar some money, a GSR.
I didnt get the ITR I was looking at but I did get a 2003 Acura TL Type S instead. Anyone got any ideas for modding it? And thanks again for everyone who replied to my questions

i seen a 97 ITR on craigs list for like 24gs it had like 58k on it, maybe its just me but i would prefer a 2001 type R over the 97. you gotta think from 97 to 2001 alot of improvements where made and the 2001 would probly be cheaper. just my 2 cents

97 is more hard core as it didn't come standard with stereo or A/C. No improvements were made really considering the USDM market didn't get much, not like the JDM land did.
