How much would you pay this ITB?
A guy is selling an ITB that he had made. He took the GSR intake manifold and had it cut and welded back together with the ITB off a CBR 954 motorcycle. Would this even work properly? How much would this be worth, should I pay for it?

What is he selling it for? They're cheap to make http://www.homemadeturbo.com/tech_pr...itb/index.html and it beats paying $2000 for the Toda ITB's or for other aftermarket ITB's, I'm sure they work well enough, but you can pick up Gixxer 1000 ITB's on ebay sometims for like $50 but prices are going up on that stuff now that everyone knows you can use shit like that. If he's selling em for like $250 I'd pick em up but it depends on quality, or just make your own. Put up some pics of his set.

i have a friend who took some ITBs off a bike to put on a GSR and they got it run awsome. they put a JDM header and upgraded the fuel system, along w/good tunning. its hard enough to get a TODA ITB or ITB manufactured for ur car to run and idle correctly. ITBs take more than u think. for these to run properly ure going to need good tuning. its not like an intake where u slap it on and go. u should really look into ITB before u purchase them. theres a guy that drives around town w/ITBs on his LS and it cant idle for shit...its loud as fuck but it only runs decent when hes in the high RPMs. even then its still kinda sketchy.

They have to be tuned properly duh. ITB's are also called 4 throttles, and they controll each cylinder on the engine individually, they take massive tuning and with ITB's you should generally be idling around 1000-1200rpm from what I've seen and heard, tuned properly also means ECU tuning etc, but ITB's tuned properly provide superior throttle response and awesome top end...all if its tuned properly.

Yeah, i thought about 250 would be really good, so i bidded on it. The guy has the reserve set higher than that, so oh well.... i may look into having my own made. So it take a LOT of tuning? I was hoping that we wouldn't have to play with the ECU much to do it. What all would i have to do with the ECU for it to work properly? If you wnt to check out this guys ITB, go to ebay item 7917210144. It looks really good on the engine.....

if u dont wana deal w/tunning issues or ECU upgrade ud better have the guy remove ur bid. ITBs require precision tunning...ure completely removing the intake manifold so that all four pistons get a massive rush of air flow through the individual throttle bodies. all that air needs more fuel...and with that it needs to be tuned just right so that the right amount of air and fuel are mixed. throttle bodies are ALLLLL top end power, raising the redline would make u more power at the top end. that means ure gonna need ur ECU chipped if u dont wana have it reprogrammed. raising the redline means u gotta upgrade the valve train so u dont get valve float. like i said, it takes a lot to make FULL use of ITBs and make them run properly.

Its more throttle response and top end, not really "Power"

so i just need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and have the car tuned after putting this thing on. I already have a chipped ECU and wouold still not run the thing past redline.... that is kinda bad. I like the way this ITB looks on the his car and understand what it does. I just want to know if the fuel pressure reg. alone will be sufficent to tune it.... or will i need a hondata system to do it?
