i'm lowering my car..

and i'm looking to accent my front bumper with a nice lip. i was wondering what to get and how much does it take to paint the lip silver? i have a 1998 GS. any suggestions? also, if i get the front lip, is it gonna throw off the balance and flow of the car's body? meaning, will i have to get side skirts and a rear lip to go along with it?

Nah, just get a OEM styled lip and you can duplicolor the lip and it will look really close in color though I'd paint it black and clear coat it really good. But it would look nice with just a lip. you'll see when you see it on your car.

The other thing you have to be concerned about is your alignment...lowering your car will jack up ur alignment..this will cause excessive wear on ur tires...just make sure u have a shop in mind that has done alignments on cars which have been lowered

yeah, i'm really excited. i'm gonna be at my shop and they're going to show me how to do it. hands-on learning, so next time i won't have to go to them and i can just do it myself or with a couple of friends. i'm trying to get it ready before august 14. there's no way in hell i'm running a mountain again with only front upper and rear lower bars with stock suspension. it wasn't bad though, but i can imagine the difference adjustable shocks will make.

Correct, use camber kit and do an alignment for sure. and get the ITR front lip like Girl said. Its really not hard to lower a car though it can take some time though especially when things break. but looking forward to pics.

Are they charging you to do it? You should just do it yourself... You can basically figure it out by just lookin at it...

well, if they're just going to supervise me, then no. if i ask them to do it, yes. will i really need a camber kit? it's only a 1.7f and 1.5r drop.

You can use 1-2 washers in the rear to fix rear camber, but I always suggest a camber kit because doing it right the first time is important. You can get away without using a camberkit for awhile though but then again theres no point in paying for 2 alignments or anything, so I'd just install a camber kit with the springs etc.

What ever you wish, I have a Revo Camber kit on my integra, same as Progress camber kit but Progress was on back order, Ingalls, Sprint, Skunk2 whatever you want thats cost effective for you all that matters is it works. I usually like to match suspension companys though because alot of their stuff is designed to work with their other products. All you really need to do is order a front camber kit and use a few washers between the bolts in the rear 2 bolts that bolt to the side of the inside of the wheel well ya know...well good luck

I did the washer trick to the rear of my Civic and it was pretty easy. It just took a lot of time to get the right amount of shims in. Also, i used longer bolts, just to give it more bite so it didn't fall back out. After it all, the shims fixed my camber problem.

I dont know if its just because I dont drive enough miles or what but my car does'nt eat through tires like you would think. Im down about 2-2.5 inches and i've never aligned my car, I also have mad camber.

Anyway, just make sure the front lip does'nt hang too low, I know the VIS lip on my civic hangs too low and it kinda messes up the flow of the car.
