Yeah dood search around. You mite find that with some work and tlc you'd be impressed with the power you get from your ls motor. The stickies here are great good info and teamintegra.net and g2ic.com have some good info and DIY's you could try out.
Good luck

but welcome brother. If you've got dough go for the K20 swap, best swap you can do in my opinion. But that is mad $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. If you want a good drag car you could go with an H22A. If you want a good turbo or N/A motor and have the money, go with a b18c1, b17, or b16 i don't really like b16's in tegs though due to the lack of torque. The b18b also makes a really good candidate for boost and alot of people go with that which you should already have. ANother b series motor to consder if you have the cash and know you want straight N/A performance you could bo with the b18c5 out of the type R but that is atleast 4K for the motor. But bragging rights. You could also go Ls/Vtec but i dont' reccomend it. Just buy a normal vtec motor if that's what you want.

I want a decently quick car, i was thinking b16, but thats what everyone around here has, i was thinking about the h22, but have heard of nothing but bad stuff about them from people. My stock motor has too many miles on it to boost it, it blow up instantly, lol. I was thinking to get another b18 and mess with it a little then boost it.

either build up your motor you have because it would be cheaper. forged internals injectors valvetrain and head work. Or if you can't be without you're wheels for long. Just buy another b18b for like 300-400 bucks and build the shit out of that then swap down the road. quick is a relative term so how much whp are you talking about here and i can gell you a motor you would want. and do you want boost or N/A?

^ i agree, I'd rather have a rebuilt motor then buying a new motor w/ 30,000 miles on it. Although a rebuild will cost you more then a $300-400 Ls motor.
If i were you, i'd rebuild your motor with upgraded internals (bore/sleeve if you want), and then custom boost it.

but chances are he needs to be able to drive his car and having it worked on for 2 weeks will not be cool. that's why i suggested getting a busted ass ls motor and working that while he drives his current car.

Or if he wanted to stay NA, he could bump up the compression with some pistons while he was rebuilding the bottom end. A fast NA car amazes me more than a fast FI car (even though I'm going SC). Either way, I'd have larger slugs put in there to up the displacement a bit while your rebuilding.....

or you could be really cool and put two 150hp shots of naawwwwzzzzz in your trunk and have like 5 buttons for each stage of spray. they really helped on his t4 turboe'd eclipse in FnF to barely creap past 120 mph with both nawwwzz buttons down. Just don't lose your floorboards ;-).
oh yeah and i hear the neon flamzzzzz out of your xawst maked your car have the mad kwikness.
Seriously though there are so many routes you can go so we really need precise goals that you are trying to attain

I want to get in the low 9's, high 8's if possible in the 8th, i want to boost the motor. How much does it usually cost for a rebuild on a b18. What mods would be best motor wise, like brands?

vavletrain, turbo cams, forged internals and head flow work if you want ot go all out. that's probably around 2.5-3K parts and labor. IF you want to do the work yourself bump off 1000 bucks. My esitmate i'm not to familiar with b18b's
for fully built motor with boost you're probably looking at around 4K depends on how much power you want to push and what your definition of a built motor.

8's?! 9's?! :eek good luck buddy, ur gonna need that along with a SHITload of money. for a car that fast u need to upgrade everything not only the engine; we're talkin axles, tranny, massive lightweight reductions, racing tires, clutch etc etc etc etc.
