Intake manifold comparisons
Im preparing to do my swap, but before I do, i want to get a clutch/flywheel, and upgraded intake mani.
Skunk2 is by far the most expensive, running around $230 new, before shipping. Ive seen them used for as low as 175 before shipping.
Blox is (ive heard) the same as skunk2, but much cheaper. Around $180 new, 150 or less used.
Power (typhoon) is a company ive never heard of before recently. A guy on HT told me about them, and he has one on his B18C1. He said he got a great increase in overall power, and theyre only $150 new, with $30 for shipping. I was wondering if anyone has heard of them?
Between cost and performance, what would you guys choose: Skunk2, Blox, Power, or Edelbrock?
I saw OBX makes one, but i learned my lesson with one of their headers. Their stuff is garbage.

There is no "best" out of those. Are you going N/A or FI? That will determine what's best for YOU.
BTW stock should have the best cost/performance ratio since the cost part of the equation is zero.

hmm, it's a shame AEBS doesn't make em for us B18C1 engines :/
i personally have an AN-R intake manifold i believe BLOX took their design. pretty much they're all skunk2/itr haha.
just remember with the intake manifold swap your GSR throttle body cable is going to be raised up a tad, therefore making it hard for most, if not all, front strut tower bars to fit.
you might as well get a TB...and an ITR tb cable.
up to you, they're all pretty much the same..they just cost diff. because of the name..
hey just in case u decide with the skunk 2, make sure u buy the new version(it has a skunk2 plate on the top of the im) it suppose to flow 30% better than the orginal one. i believe they call it the pro series now.

yeah, they're pretty good. never heard anything bad from them before. their fuel rails are awesome as well. i'd buy a fuel rail and sell my benen one =P
I'm not certain, but the difference between them is usually the welds, in other words, their quality.
I'm sure if you did some searching around, especially on HT, you;'d be able to find some of these comparisons.
As for the new skunk design, the pro series is not street legal and for race purpose only. It is slightly bigger than the regular one. The regular one does not have the skunk stamp on the top of the IM.

i cant say which is best but i have a blox intake manifold and it works great with my car .. it prob will work better with better cams but i still feel the power diffrence so its ok ..
