I could get an H22 head on a D16 block, but that doesnt mean it would work well.

lol don't call me a tool. It is not 99.9% wrong, it is 100% right. It's not the best choice but if its all he had, then it could be done. And the two stage vs 1 stage intake manifold doesn't make any difference in its ability to be used on a gsr engine. Hell when people chip their ecu's they usually disable it anyway. And no aftermarket intake manifolds come with two stages for the gsr, so why would it matter if the b18a manifold doesn't have two stages?? Don't deny something just because its different or uncommon. If he wanted to get his car running tomorrow and couldn't get a new intake manifold until next week, why not use it? I never said it bolts up like stock, but its completely do-able. Lets just be friends now

Its not right, and you shouldnt tell people to do it. Even if you got it to line up, it would still probably leak. Moreover, disabling the 2 stage intake manifold on an otherwise stock motor would only hurt power, not help it. Aftermarket intake manifolds are single stage because theyre made for motors that have AT LEAST I/H/E, if not cams already. Not to mention that (im guessing here) that the B18A IM runners are smaller than the GSR's. Id put money on it, but im not 100% sure. I can check if we want to get really nit-picky. If he wanted to have his car running tomorrow and couldnt get a new IM until next week, it really wouldnt matter. He wouldnt have the project done by then anyway. The IM is aluminum and would need to be TIG welded, or aluminum MIG welded. The bolt patterns are not the same, and it wouldnt be worth it to modify one to put it on.

Ok well as long as we're still friends, i'm pretty sure its just the bolt pattern that is off, so its really just a matter of drilling new holes (which isn't insurmountable--metal drill bits > aluminum), no cutting or welding needed. The port spacing is still the same, and yes a b18a manifold will not have as great of performance as a gsr manifold. Ok I'm done.

I guess youve never compared the two side by side? The holes arent just a little off. You would have to cut the entire B18A flange off, and weld on the entire B18C1 flange.
