Integra 2000 brake problems

Hi all, I just recently bought a 2000 integra ls, and all of the sudden my brakes are acting foolish. There are times when they are really squishy, and almost go to the floor, and other times there is A LOT of pressure, and when I'm driving it feels like the e brake is up... I am not too knowledgeable with brakes, and neither is my boyfriend, and I hoping that someone can help!! THANKS!

I think it may be your master cylinder. Check to see if there is fluid around it leaking out.

i'd second that. but maybe you also have air in the hoses. check that out also. maybe visually inspect your pads and rotors.

I would bring it into a shop and get it checked, just ask them to check it for you and it wont cost you anything unless you let them fix the problem. Brakes are your best friend and it will save your life, if I were you, I wont be driving the car, until you get it checked & fixed. Goodluck and be safe.

Thanks for the help. I checked the master and there was no fluid around it. We're going to replace the master anyway, and replace the brake fluid... and hope and pray that fixes it... sigh...
