Integra GSR idle problem

About a month ago my 1994 Integra GSR started idleing abnormally. I didn't pay any attention to it until my car shut off when after I had shifted into neutral. I figured I needed a valve adjustment, so I went to get a tune-up. They did a valve adjusment, but my car is still idleing weird. When I put it in neutral the rpms drop to about 500 rpm then slowly go back up to just under 1000 rpm. IT feels and sounds like my car is about to shut off. The guy who tuned up my car said it will take a little while for my cpu to adjust to the tune up, he also said he noticed the problem when he fixed my car so he said he adjusted the idle. It's still doing it and has been for three days. Does anyone know if my cpu will adjust or is there something else wrong with it? ANd what rpm should my car idle at?

firstly if you want to reset your ecu all you have to do is disconnect the battery for 30 mins.

secondly it seem like you did need your valve clearances adjusting but it sounds like whoever you got to do them has over tightened them.

have them check your o2 sensor

resetting might help..

remember after disconnecting, let the car idle for a bit and make the ECU learn..

see if that helps

if it's more like a surge, rpm's go up then down up then down in idle then it might be your iac motor.

Actually to reset the ECU completely you need to unhook the negative battery cable, and unplug all of the plugs to the ECU for a few minutes, replug them in, reconnect battery cable, and turn the car on and let it idle for 7-10min with all accessorys off. So I read on G2ic...I might be wrong, but I doubt it.

The iac motor is the idle air control motor.
